Amusing YouTube nonsense of the morning — commenters are convinced that this is a cameo by Barack Obama in the 1993 video for Tag Team’s “Whoomp! There It Is.”

Which then reminded me of this Donald Glover bit.

And then prompted me to watch the video for the (much better) 95 South song “Whoot There It Is.”

And then prompted me to look it up on Wikipedia, which led to this gem:

In 1995, Tag Team made an alternate version of the song called Whoomp! (There It Went) together with several Disney characters. It is basically the same song, but with several lyrics altered to depict Donald Duck’s party in this version rather than a generic one in the original.

Credit to Leah Buckley and my wife for finding this before I did. I’m pretty sure Yo-Yo is improvising here. How incredibly to play every note with such purpose…
